Studio practice
Born in London, England, I began my journey as an artist in 2002, working primarily in oils. Growing up in London, I developed an early appreciation for the landscape through train journeys from the city to the coast. I was captivated by the changing scenery — from the urban environment, through the countryside, and ultimately to the beach. These journeys created a lasting connection to the landscape and continue to influence my work today.
In 2007, one of my paintings was accepted into the Firehouse Art Gallery in Milford, Connecticut, marking an important early milestone in my artistic career. After moving to Rhode Island in 2008, I continued to pursue my passion for painting through local classes, exhibitions, and involvement in the regional arts community.
Working primarily in oils, I focus on landscapes and seascapes, using color, light, and atmosphere to express the emotions I experience in nature. My paintings are inspired by the positive energy and sense of happiness I find in the natural world. Rather than simply reproducing a particular place, I strive to capture how a landscape makes me feel and translate that feeling onto the canvas. My work ranges from representational to more interpretive, depending on the emotion and atmosphere I wish to convey.
